Lonnie Gray Booe Sr.

Mr. Lonnie Gray Booe Sr., 81, of Winston-Salem, passed away on June 3, 2017. He was born on February 12, 1936 to Caswell Hobson Booe and Lucy Renegar Booe. Mr. Booe was a Godly man and was a member of Pinedale Christian Church. He enjoyed bluegrass music, racing, fishing, the beach, and anything that was outdoors. Mr. Booe was very talkative, and never met a stranger, even a telemarketer. He was a veteran of the United States Airforce and was also a Mason. Mr. Booe was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Merlene Bray, Pauline Baker, and Audrey Felts, and two brothers, Garl A. Booe and Carlyle Booe. Surviving is his wife, Judith Surmons Booe, daughter, Lonna Campbell, son Lonnie G. Booe Jr., grandchildren, Savannah, Trista, Joshua, and Nick, a brother, Caswell Hobson Booe Jr., and two sisters Betty Shuping and Penny Cline. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel officiated by Ministers Bob McCaskill and Bill McKenzie. Entombment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service. The family would like to send a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Abbotts Creek Center for their care.
