Loraine Ashburn Lee

Loraine Ashburn Lee passed away November 23, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home with her family by her side. She was born May 15, 1924 to Robert Lee Ashburn and Emma Lillie Ashburn in Surry County. After graduating from Mount Airy High School, Loraine went on to become a devoted wife and mother. She was also a dedicated member of her church, Grace Baptist Temple in Winston-Salem. Loraine was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell B. Lee; a brother, Lugene Ashburn; and a sister, Eilene Zimmerman. She is survived by sons, Gary Lee (Ginger) of Clemmons, and David Lee of King; grandchildren, Kathy Nichols (Chris), and Jennifer Adams (Mike); great grandchildren; J.P. Blalock, Leah Blalock, Kasey Nichols, and C.J. Nichols; a brother, Eugene Ashburn; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013 with Rev. Ed Sears officiating. The family will have a private graveside service. The family will receive friends from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Baptist Temple, 3305 Peters Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27127, or Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27013. Special thanks goes to the staff on the 2nd floor at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center, and Palliative Care Unit on the 8th floor; and her special caregivers and friends at Priddy Manor, King, NC.
