Loren William Lundgren, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 30, 2026—on his 67th wedding anniversary—surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith Walker Lundgren; his son Eric (Angie); his daughter Greta (Kevin Longbotham); grandchildren Will and Sinclaire Longbotham, Hezekiah Davis, and Bradly White; great‑grandson Na’mir Davis; his sister Hazel Ralston; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Born in Rockford, Illinois, on April 25th, 1932, to Harlan O. Lundgren and Dorothea Stadsholt Lundgren, Loren was the youngest of six children. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Business.
Loren spent many years in the printing industry, and later owned and operated Businessmen’s Printing & Office Supply Co. for twenty‑six years, alongside his wife and children. He also dedicated twenty‑eight years to teaching, as a business instructor, at Forsyth Tech Community College, where he influenced countless students.
Loren’s life was centered around the things he loved most: his family, his cars, and tending to his home and garden. A proud “Depression Baby,” he was a self‑proclaimed “do‑it‑yourselfer,” “don’t buy it new,” “save it,” “fix it,” “rig it,” and “recycle it,” kind of guy. Good at some things, as he liked to say, but master of none. His resourcefulness, Midwest humor, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
A funeral service celebrating Loren’s life will be held on Friday, February 6th at 3:00 p.m. at Ardmore United Methodist Church (630 S. Hawthorne Rd.). A brief inurnment will follow the service, and the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Young Life, Trellis Supportive Care, or the Salvation Army, in honor of Loren’s generous spirit.
