Lorene Hennis Davis

WALKERTOWN - Earlie Lorene Hennis Davis, 86, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at Trinity Glen Nursing Home. Lorene was born on April 25, 1929 to the late Charles Haley and Annie Mae Wilkins Hennis. She attended Gospel Light Baptist Church and was a loving mother and ‘Nana'.
In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James Farrell Davis; and two brothers, Harry Lee Hennis and E. H. Hennis.

Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Diane Taylor of Summerville, SC; and Janice Wallin (husband, Stan) of Walkertown; and one son, Jeffrey Charles Davis of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Haley Harlan (husband, David), Nathan Wallin (wife, Chantelle) and Jonathan Wallin; four great grandchildren, Aaron and Jacob Harlan, Caroline and Ethan Wallin; two sisters, Doris Duncan and Grace Holenbeck; and one brother, Rannie Hennis all of Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow at Vickrey United Methodist Church Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
