Lorene Willard

Kernersville – Mrs. Lorene Willard, 77, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on June 2, 1941 in Yadkin County to Ellis and Bessie Ring. Lorene was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She was such a fine example of what a true Christian lady is. She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. Lorene always put others first, looking for ways that she could help those in need. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Ring; and one brother, Bill Ring. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bobby Eugene Willard; one daughter, Sharon Willard Hutchins (Christopher); two sons, Steven Wayne Willard (Debbie) and Gregory Eugene Willard; five grandchildren, Alec, Ashlyn, Alden, Matthew and Tabitha; two brothers, Lawrence Ring and Larry Ring; and one sister, Linda Inman. A funeral service for Lorene will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate and Rev. Jon White officiating. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Forsyth Medical Center in the Neuro ICU and the Palliative Care Unit for their exceptional care for Lorene during her illness.
