Lougene Thompson Hooks Wiggins, 86, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016. Lougene was born on January 8, 1930 in Wayne County to the late Flowers and Dora Thompson. In addition to her parents, Lougene was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Wiggins as well as three sisters and ten brothers. Surviving is her sister Margaret Woodruff and Brother Louis Thompson; her two daughters, Lynda Culler and husband Jim, Rose Kiger and husband Randy, and son, Butch (Charles) and wife Lisa and stepson, Ken Wiggins and wife Gay; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Lougene also leaves behind the loving, kind and compassionate angel caregivers from The Perryman House. These wonderful people made her life worth living for the last two and a half years. A special thank you to them and to Kathy Hatfield for her vision and love of our elder population. A celebration of life service for Lougene will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Friedberg Moravian Church followed by her burial at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 - 2:30 at the church.
