Louise Freeman Haizlip

Oak Ridge - Mrs. Louise Freeman Haizlip, 86, passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born August 13, 1928 to the late John and Essie Freeman. She love spending time with her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She loved traveling gardening and music. She retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company after 26 years of service. She was a member of Shining Light Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Jesse Leonard Haizlip Sr.; her first husband Archie Thomas Phelps and her son Robert Lee Phelps

Surviving are; a daughter Margaret Sue Watson of Oak Ridge; granddaughter Stephanie Watson Stout (Matthew) of Pittsboro; three step-daughters Doris Smith (Rhonnie) of Lynchburg, VA, Jan Williams of Lynchburg, VA, and Cathy McKinney (Randy) of Burlington; two step-sons, Leonard Haizlip, Jr. (JoAnne) of Burlington and Elwood Haizlip (Suzanne) of Seattle, WA; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Shining Light Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas Satterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, November 18, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
