Louise Calhoun Mahaffey

Mrs. Louise Calhoun Mahaffey, 87, of Winston-Salem died Monday, January 13, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1926 in Stokes County, the daughter of the late, David Dewey and Jettie Lou Golden Calhoun. Mrs. Mahaffey was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church. She was a graduate of King High School and worked at Hanes Knitwear and Zinzendorf Laundry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Junior Mahaffey of the home; one son, Steven Mahaffey and wife, Martha of Winston-Salem; one daughter, Kelly Mahaffey Ellis and husband, Mark of Clemmons; three grandchildren, Meredith Harper of Mooresville and Sarah Ellis and John Ellis of Clemmons; one brother, Larry D. Calhoun and wife, Doris of Laurel DL; and a number of other family members. The funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 PM at Konnoak Baptist Church with Rev. John Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 11:00 until 12:30 PM.
