Walkertown - Mrs. Louise Elizabeth Motsinger Martin, 89, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 21, 2013 and is now teaching the angels how to sing! Louise was born on June 12, 1924 in Forsyth County to the late William and Fallie Cameron Motsinger. She was a true Christian, loving mother, Mamaw, sister, aunt and friend. Louise never met a stranger, sharing her love for Jesus and nurturing personality with all she met. Louise loved her family dearly and spoiled them with her beans, taters and biscuits, but most important, she introduced them to the love of Jesus. She was happy to cheer others with her gospel singing and was a true believer in the power of prayer. Louise was a member of White Oak Grove Church of the Living God and founding member of Kerwin Community Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Gaither Martin, two sisters, and four brothers. Surviving are two sons, Larry (Martha) Martin and Roy (Jeanette) Martin; two daughters, Sherry (Leroy) Everhart and Barbara Martin, three grandchildren, Dawn (Steve) Harpster, Tammy Martin, and Candace (Chris) Holton; four great grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Steven Harpster, and Jordan Hayes; one great great grandchild, Braydon Townsend; and her loving cat, 'Baby'. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00PM Monday, June 24, 2013 at White Oak Grove Church of the Living God with Rev. Doris Farmer and Gary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday evening, June 23, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Memorials may be made to White Oak Grove Church of the Living God, Hospice and Palliative Care, or the Forsyth County Humane Society.
