Mrs. Louise Venable McMannen, 90, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born March 23, 1929 in Iredell County to the late Jesse Cicero Parker and Ila Elizabeth Brewer Parker. Mrs. McMannen was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville. She loved dancing, traveling, and singing in the choir. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMannen was preceded in death by her first husband, Grady James Venable; three sisters; and one brother. She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby R. McMannen, Sr.; son, Steve J. Venable (Darlene); daughter, Lu Ann Sorrell; three grandchildren: Michael Venable (Sherry), Brian Venable (Cecilia), and Jana Swaim (Wes); seven great-grandchildren: Mikayla Venable, Sydney Venable, Annabella Venable, Ciara Venable, and Mason Venable, Hayden Swaim, and Piper Lily Swaim; niece, Loretta Martin, whom she shared a special bond; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville with the Rev. Eddie Honeycutt, Rev. Johnson Gupton, and Rev. Jim Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bus Ministry at First Baptist Church of Stanleyville, 851 Ziglar Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
