Louise Beasley Welborn

Mrs. Louise Beasley Welborn, 98, unexpectedly passed away, Monday, August 3, 2026, at Novant Health Kernersville Medical Center.

Mrs. Welborn was born October 7, 1927, in Stokes County, North Carolina, to Lucius and Mary Pocahontas Moss Beasley.

Louise was first and foremost a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Before retiring from the Forsyth County Tax Assessor’s Office, she dedicated herself to caring for her family. Alongside her beloved husband, Marshall, she kept a large garden and helped raise and preserve the family’s food, believing that nothing should ever go to waste. She was an exceptional baker, and her children fondly remember waking each Saturday morning to the familiar sound of her mixer as she baked the family’s cake for the week. An accomplished seamstress, Louise lovingly sewed clothing for herself and her daughters and created beautiful quilts that will be treasured for generations. She was also valedictorian of her graduating class, a testament to the determination and excellence that characterized her throughout her life.

A longtime member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Walkertown, Louise’s Christian faith guided every aspect of her life. She rarely missed a Sunday service and faithfully served her church for many years. She was an active member of one of the church’s ladies’ circles, taught Sunday School, faithfully helped with Vacation Bible School each summer, and oversaw the church’s Christmas program for many years. She dearly loved her church family and especially enjoyed teaching and talking about her Sunday School children.

Louise was known for her generous spirit, servant’s heart, and unwavering love for others. She faithfully supported numerous charities throughout the years and was a devoted prayer warrior, faithfully lifting her family and friends in prayer each day. Her own family will forever cherish the memories of Christmases she made so special through her love, traditions, and thoughtfulness, and her special sugar cookies. Those holidays remain among their most treasured memories.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Marshall Stanley Welborn; her son-in-law, Bruce Pearman; her sister, Ruby Chandler; and two brothers, Kenneth Cary Beasley and Merrell Beasley.

Surviving are her daughters, Melanie W. Pearman and Lisa W. Howell (husband, Mark) of Winston-Salem; her son, Stanley Welborn of Germanton; granddaughters, Arielle Wilson (Rob), Courtney Hubbard (Michael), and Candace Shamblin (Jay); great-grandchildren, Trae (Alexa), Quinton (Maria), Irelynn, Cainan, and Diana; great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Caspian; and her brother, Frank Beasley (wife, Virginia) of Rural Hall as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

To all of her cherished friends, you were like family to her. She always looked forward to your visits, cards and calls.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Louise’s caregivers. You cared for her as if she were your own mother, and your kindness and care will never be forgotten.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. Rev. Eric Tang will officiate. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
