WALKER KING, Mrs. Lucille Grubbs Walker, 77, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Walker was born in Forsyth County on July 14, 1931 the daughter of the late John Edward and Edna Mae Roberson Grubbs. She was a faithful member of Fulp Moravian Church in Walnut Cove. She retired from P. H. Hanes Company with 31 years of service and later retired from Forsyth Medical Center with 16 years of service. Her pleasures in life were doing crafts and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Surviving is her husband of 58 years M. Glenn Walker of the home, a son Jr. Walker and his wife Lisa of King, two grandchildren Travis Neal Walker and wife Tammy of King and Gregory Todd and wife Cathy of Claremore, OK, two great grandchildren Tyler and Abby Walker, three sisters Betty Hull and husband Bill of Pfafftown, Dorothy Davis of Lewisville and Barbara Wall and husband David of Rural Hall, a brother Jack Grubbs and wife Gail of Yadkinville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Monday, March 9, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall with Rev. Dan Nelson and Rev. Tim Sapp officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The Walker family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home.
