Lucy Jane Calder Millikan

Mrs. Lucy Jane Calder Millikan, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Trinity Elms Skilled Nursing. She was born October 8, 1931, in Forsyth County to Pithus Calder and Polly Ziglar Calder. Mrs. Millikan was a devoted homemaker.  She was a lifelong member of Fairview Moravian Church where she attended the Weber Memorial Sunday School Class. She graduated from Hanes High School and remained an active alumnus for many years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Millikan was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Benny Gray Millikan; sister, Ann Sams, and many friends at High Rock Lake. Surviving is her son, Alan Millikan (wife Dianne) of Germanton; daughter, Janie Hill (husband Chuck) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Alex Hill, Jeremiah Millikan and Daniel Millikan (wife Katherine); great grandchildren, Joslyn and Jovi Millikan; sister, Betty Robinson of King; and brother, Ed Calder of Fayetteville. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 31, 2023, at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Tony Hayworth officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview Moravian Church.
