Luis Rosario

God welcomed Luis Rosario into His eternal home on August 20, 2025. Luis was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on August 3,1954 into a loving family.

In 1978, he graduated with a BS in Engineering from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. From that time on, he resided in Winston-Salem, NC and was employed until retirement by AT&T/Nokia as a Technical Writer.

He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church and played the bass guitar in the Praise Band. He loved his family and his church family. His Savior, Jesus Christ, was the focal point of his life.

Luis participated in foreign missions to Jamaica where he loved the children and was inspired by the people’s love of scripture and memory work. He sought ways to serve God through the church and in the world.

He loved music, especially Paul McCartney's bass playing and lyrics. He was a left-handed bass player just like Paul. Luis loved all who surrounded him and he will be deeply missed.

Luis was preceded in passing by his father, Harry Rosario Lizardi.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Francisca Rosario of Williamsburg, Va.; the love of his life, his wife, Joan Rosario, three stepchildren Meghan Moody (Shawn), Ryan Johnson (Jess), and Aaron Johnson (Tyler); one grandchild who loved his “Pa Lou” Maverick Moody; one sister Rev. Nitza Rosario of Chicago, IL, a niece, Aisha Di Naro, and her children Musa, Amina, and Razia.

Luis loved the Lord, his family, and his church. He was a good man. We appreciate the love and grace that each of you shared with him and have shown to us. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ to the world. God’s presence in you has brought us peace.
