Lula "Tootsie" Cave

Lula Mae (Tootsie) Cave passed away September 17, 2023, peacefully at Bermuda Commons to be united with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Lula was preceded in death by her parents, Mary A. and John G. Scott. Being raised on a tobacco farm in Shoals, NC, she gained experience in hard work and family living. After high school she moved to Winston-Salem and was employed at Southern Bell for 34 years. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Always, she was helping someone. Tootsie was a giving person, always making sure every niece and nephew received exactly the same monetary gift at Christmas. Different gifts but same money value. She loved all sports, but Carolina was her favorite. In addition to her parents, she lost her husband, John L. Cave in 1975; her sisters, Beulah Scott, Ethel Hauser, and brother, Paul Scott, leaving nieces, Linda Hayes (Harold), Judy Hobson (Lewis), Vermale Salmons, and their children. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, September 22, 2023 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Rev. Jeffery O’Neal officiating.
