Luther Hege

Luther Forrest Hege went to be with his Lord and Savior early Tuesday morning on March 20, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on November 18, 1937 in Forsyth County, NC. Luther enjoyed RVing, and collecting model cars. He retired from R.J. Reynolds with 30 plus years of service. Luther was a very humble man and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife Avie Jean Hege; son Forrest Hege (Beth); step-daughter Marlene Locklear (Harold); grandsons Lee Hege and Chad Hege (Pamela); granddaughters Rebecca Deal (Scottie), Priscilla McNeil (Hollice), Marlena Locklear, Joy Giles and Daniella Giles; thirteen great-grandchildren; and his special friend and dog, Boe. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday March 23, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Scottie Deal officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
