Lydia Kirkman Gibson

Mrs. Lydia Kirkman Gibson passed away early Wednesday morning August 5, 2015 at Arbor Acres. Lydia was born on June 25, 1923 in Surry County, to the late John Kirkman and Drusilla Watson Kirkman. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was one of nine children. Lydia is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Zeb Vance Gibson; two sons Richard Lee Gibson and wife Donna of Florence, SC, and Alan Wayne Gibson and wife Catherine of Asheville, NC; and five grandchildren Christopher and wife Lauren, Michael and wife Lauren, Megan, Graham, and Gabe. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Doug Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11:15 AM Saturday, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 3819 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
