Mrs. Lynn Marie Ernst Moyer, age 79 of Farmington, went home to be with Jesus Monday, September 1, 2025 with family by her side. She was born October 5, 1945 in Forsyth County to the late William Lee Ernst and Marie Shouse Ernst. Lynn met her beloved sweetheart, Wayne, in the RJ Reynolds High School Marching Band room where it was love at first sight.
Lynn's spiritual gift was teaching God's word. For over forty years she taught an adult Sunday School class and ministered to women through small group bible studies. She took joy in growing and tending to flowers in her multiple gardens and used the flowers to bless others with beautiful flower arrangements. She also loved decorating for special events whether a simple family gathering or a large event in the church fellowship hall. This was pure heaven to her!
She loved spending time with family. She was a loving mother, an adored grandmother and great-grandmother - known as Granmommie to everyone. As she grew older so did her love of cats and the need to rescue them. Jokingly her nickname was the Cat Lady. But as days became harder, her cats brought her much comfort.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Bogdan. Surviving are her husband, Barry “Wayne” Moyer of 63 years; four children, Wayne Farrell Moyer (Michele), Leigh Whaling (Barry), Stacey Reed (Scott) and Josh Moyer (Crystal); one niece, Ivana Bogdan; eight grandchildren, Ashleigh Bentley, Nicholas Whaling (Hannah), Katie Murray (Jordan), Brianna Prim-Reed (Carson), Dominic Moyer, Jake and Noah Moyer and Ethan Franklin Lawson; four great grandchildren, Arabella and Auden Bentley; Dawson Whaling and Archer Murray and special mention to Ethan Ratledge, whose been like a grandson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 5, 2025 at Reynolda Church by Pastor Alan Wright. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Dream Factory of North Carolina. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
