Mabel Ann Cleary Johnson

Mrs. Mabel Ann Cleary Johnson, 95, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born on May 10, 1931, in Wilkes County, NC to the late Guy Franklin Cleary and Pearl Johnson Cleary. Mabel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was member of Marshall Baptist Church. Mabel loved being outdoors whether it was walking or gardening and she enjoyed cooking.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Arnold Johnson; and her six siblings. Mabel is survived by her two daughters, Tena Cornett and Gina Angles (Freddie); two grandsons, Ryan Cornett and his wife Jamie and Christopher Cornett and his wife Megan; three step-granddaughters, Erika Stewart, Emily Angles, and Seanna Brown; two great-grandchildren, Kya Cornett and Ava Cornett; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special recognition to Mike, Steve, and Meta Johnson who shared a loving and significant bond with Mabel.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00am Monday, November 2, 2026, at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating.
