Mack Allen Eller

Mack Allen Eller, 88, affectionately known as ""Pa"" suddenly passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mack served in the United States Navy and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. Mack was a tremendous athlete who was an all Northwest Basketball selection from Millers Creek High School in 1945. He also played baseball at Appalachian State University and was the baseball, basketball, and football coach at Rural Hall High School in the mid 1950's. As an excellent and avid golfer, he enjoyed kidding around with his golfing buddies. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Vida Joines Eller; parents, Isaac Eller Sr. and Virginia Vannoy Eller; two brothers, Isaac ""Ikie"" Eller, and Jack V. Eller; one son-in-law, Mark Rogers; one daughter-in-law, Johnna Eller. He is survived by two sons, Michael Eller of North Wilkesboro, Kelley Eller of Clemmons; one daughter, Robyn Rogers of the home; four grandchildren, Nathan Eller, Sr., Jessica Rogers, Jordan Rogers (Meghan), and Dustan Eller. In addition, he leaves behind his ""little monkeys"" (great-grandchildren) as he liked to call them, Hallie, Nathan Jr, Gracie, Khyla, Allie, Caiden, and Gabe. Pa also leaves behind three good and caring friends, Paneen Parker of King, N.C., Amy Lynch of Walnut Cove, N.C., and Tee Marrero of Winston-Salem, N.C; two brothers, Bill (L.J.) Eller, Joe (Carole) Eller of North Wilkesboro, N.C. Respecting our father's wishes, there will not be a service. We will celebrate his life by remembering the lessons he taught us, his willingness to help, and his patience in listening to whatever we wanted to talk about. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Palliative Care, 8th floor at Forsyth Medical Center for their compassion and care. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com. Hayworth-Miller, Rural Hall is respectfully assisting the family.
