Mallie Cain

Mrs. Mallie Marie Cain, age 90, passed away July 2, 2018, at Walnut Ridge Assisted Living in Walnut Cove. She was born in Surry County to the late George Washington Johnson and Nealie Mills Johnson on July 11, 1927. Mallie was a member of Jessup Grove Baptist Church for many years. She loved family and was a homemaker while also farming the land. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Cain and eight siblings. She is survived by two sons, Grey Cain (Darlene) and James Michael Cain (Jean); four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, July 5, 2018, at Jessup Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Clement and the Rev. Doug Brinkley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jessup Grove Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 896 Jessup Grove Church Road, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mt.
