Mamie Pegram Tucker

Stokesdale - Mamie Pegram Tucker, 93, died Monday, October 1, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. She was born October 14, 1918 to Florence Hilton and Alfred Giddion Pegram. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loving friend. She always had a smile on her face and love in her heart for everyone she met. Mrs. Tucker retired from Lorrilard Tobacco. Mamie enjoyed gardening, music, basket-making, and knitting dish cloths. Mrs. Tucker was preceded in death by her son; Hylton Tucker. Surviving are her children, Michael Tucker, Terry Bolte ( Keith), Patricia Dalton and Tim Tucker, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, a sister; Mary Clayton of Mt. Holly, a brother; Wesley Pegram (Minnie) of Stokesdale. A service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Stokesdale Christian Church in Stokesdale. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the Tucker Family. The Tucker Family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Robert Fried.
