Mrs. Margaret McAbee Brendle, 88, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 5, 1925 in Winston-Salem, the daughter of the late Jeffie J. and Edna Cornatzer McAbee. Mrs. Brendle was a charter member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of John W. Hanes High School and was employed by Lambe-Young Realtors for a number of years and Carpenter's Flower Shop for 18 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Brendle Jones. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, John C. Brendle, Jr.; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Hunter and Megan Jones of Lewisville; one son-in-law, Hamilton H. Jones of Bluefield, WV; one great granddaughter, Emma Dare Jones; one sister, Nancy M. Penry of Advance; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:30 AM at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Bret Cogan officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
