Margaret Mae Lashmit Cecil

Mrs. Margaret Mae Lashmit Cecil, 73, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 6, 1952, in Durham County, NC, to the late Theophalues “Top” Bennett Lashmit and Alice Lee Lashmit. Maragaret was a member at Liberty Baptist Church. She loved working in her flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Lashmit. Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Tony Ray Cecil; three children, Dale Ray Cecil (Donna), Randy Allen Cecil (Angie), and Tony Wayne Cecil (Crystal); six grandchildren, Samantha Nelson (Lyle), Austin Cecil (Emily), Brianna Cecil, William Cecil, Luke Cecil, and Mason Stafford; four great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kaylee, Mitchel, and Zilyn; brother, Robert Lashmit; and sister, Sally Ayers. A funeral service will be conducted at 11am Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Gary Styers officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
