Kernersville-Margaret Ring Disher (Granny) passed away on May 18, 2015 at the Hospice Home of
Rockingham Co. surrounded by her six children. She was born on August 7, 1928 to
Henry Thomas and Evelyn Foy Ring of Winston Salem. She was preceded in death by
her brother, Nick Ring; her sister, Helen Boyd and a great grandson, Ronald Moser, II.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Gene (Dinah), Tommy (Bonnie), Debbie (Frank),
Barry, Susie (David), and Penny. She is also survived by her beloved ""baby"" brother,
Jack Ring (Virginia) of Germanton, NC and brother in law, William Boyd of Winston
Salem. She leaves to carry on her legacy, 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Margaret also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved and they
loved her. Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother, who always had the time and
energy for the person who needed the most help and ""looking after"". She would go
without for herself in order to give to a child or grandchild who needed anything. In her
later years, the grandchildren and great grandchildren could always count on having
their favorite candy available when they visited. She loved her chocolate candy and
strawberry milkshakes. One of her biggest delights was when the great grandchildren
""trick or treated"" at her house on Halloween. Granny also enjoyed her shopping trips
with April, the oldest granddaughter, whom she dearly loved.
In the last months of her life, she was living with Susie and David and spending many
weekends with Penny. These were some of the happiest times of her later years. There
was lots of laughter, craziness and good memories. So Mama, we want you to know, that long after you are gone, we will still be laughing and enjoying the amusing and downright funny stories that you were a part of. You were quite the character! A celebration of her life will be held at Hayworth-Miller in Kernersville. A viewing with the family will be Friday, May 22 from 6-8pm with a service on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00am. She will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery along side Mimmy and Tom. Protecting and caring for her on the journey to her final resting place will be her sons in law, Frank Yeager and David Hilton and grandsons, Blaine Disher, Matt Disher, Justin Tuttle and Dustin Disher. We love you, Mama; Granny; Margaret, Evelyn. There will never be another one like you. Rest In Peace.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Home of
