Margaret Wise Goins

Mrs. Margaret Wise Goins, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Salemtowne. She was born August 17, 1926 in Lincoln County to Edgar Marshall and Gladys Gant Wise. Mrs. Goins was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a former employee of Salem Paper Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, John Wood Goins, Sr. Surviving are two sons, John W. Goins, Jr. and wife Kay of Winston-Salem, and Dr. Michael E. Goins and wife Anne of Wilmington; two granddaughters, Alison Goins and Megan Goins; and a sister, Mary L. Scronce of Vale, NC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28 at St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jim Murr officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
