Margaret Frances King Newsome

Mrs. Margaret Frances King Newsome, 100, passed away on July 26, 2025, at Woltz Hospice Home. She was born on October 3, 1924, in Guilford County to the late Roy Alfred King and Delphia Beasley King. Margaret retired from RJ Reynolds after 36 years of service. After retiring, she volunteered at Forsyth Medical Center for 14 years. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, baking and cooking. Margaret also loved to travel and was always helpful to others. She was a member of Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Woodrow Newsome, one grandson, Ron Sell, and two sons-in-law, Ricky Caudle and Sammy Chakona. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Chakona and Jackie Caudle, three grandchildren: David Sell, Karen Caudle, and Kelley Caudle (Sumer), and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday July 30, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Jeff Whitaker and Pastor Gleason Worrell officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.
