Margaret Walker McLeod

Margaret Walker McLeod, 87, passed away on September 5, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1936, to Alton Bernard Walker and Collye Mae Dickson Walker in Crenshaw, Mississippi. Margaret earned a bachelor’s degree from Guilford College and went on to enjoy a rewarding career as a history teacher in the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. With a passion for travel, she visited a variety of destinations including Russia, Israel, and Nicaragua. Margaret always had a special place in her heart for dogs. Most of all she enjoyed time spent with her large, loving family. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McLeod and a grandchild, Delaney McLeod. Surviving are her five children, Tommy McLeod (Cellane); Margie Holt (Kevin); Mary Lewis (Dave); Laura Helms (John); and Bob McLeod (Carolyn); eleven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Pine Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Sandra Ireson officiating.
