Margaret Merrell

Margaret Ann Jones Merrell, 84, passed away on Feb. 17, 2018 at Trellis Supportive Care. Margaret was born on Dec. 6, 1934 to Margaret Brumbaugh Jones and William Norman Jones in Indiana, PA. Margaret retired from Winston Salem Forsyth County Schools with 25 years of dedicated service as a school teacher. She enjoyed reading, attending theater performances, the YMCA Swim Club, and playing bridge at the Shepherd’s Center. Margaret’s compassionate heart led her to volunteer with special needs children. She will be remembered as a good neighbor and friend to anyone in need. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ernest Thomas Merrell, Jr., as well as two sisters, Dorothy Moore and Lois Wall. Surviving are her children, Margaret R. Merrell, Caroline Pinch, Scott B. Merrell, and Amy Mills; grandchildren, Jason Pinch, Justin Pinch, and Eason Mills; great grandchildren, Lilah and Marlow Pinch; numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend special thanks to Trellis Supportive Care.
