Mrs. Margaret Ruth Hughes Trogdon, 90, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Homestead Hills surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 2, 1928 in Forsyth County, the daughter of James and Dora Hayes Hughes. She was a member of Olivet Moravian Church and had formerly been a member at both New Philadelphia Moravian Church and Calvary Baptist Church. She had over the years worked at both Thomasville Furniture and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Margaret Ruth was a strong Christian women who was devoted to her family and her church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Trogdon; her brothers J.C Hughes and Reuben Hughes and a sister-in-law, Rita Hughes. Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Stack (Paul) of Winston-Salem; a son, David Trogdon (Candy) of Winston-Salem; two grandchildren, Caleb Stack (Heather) and Megan Stack all of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Sue Hughes of Winston-Salem and a host of nieces, nephews, great niece and great nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Olivet Moravian Church with Rev. Matthew W. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial may be made to Trellis Supportive Care 100 Hospice La., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to the Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601.
