Margie Bible Hartman

Margie Bible Hartman, 58, of Winston-Salem, NC was born on May 27, 1958 in Roanoke, Va. and returned to her Lord on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Awaiting her were her parents Richard Gray Bible and Dottie Dowdy Bible. Remaining to honor her life and memory are her daughter, Holli Hartman Pyle and her fiance, Chris Roberson and his son, Noah; a granddaughter, Ellie Pyle; a brother David Bible (Eileen). Margie graduated from Patrick Henry High School in Roanoke, Va. in 1976 and attended Longwood University in Farmville, Va. She graduated from Radford University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She had a fruitful career as an elementary school teacher beginning in Roanoke, Va. and from there to Raleigh, North Carolina. In December 2015, she retired from the Winston-Salem school. She spent the last 27 years at Griffith Elementary School where she was well respected. Throughout her career Margie touched the lives of students and teachers alike and was loved by many. Margie was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. But her greatest joy in life was her daughter Holli and her two year old granddaughter, Ellie, whom she kept since retiring. Margie exuded the light of Christ and was genuinely interested in the lives of others. She had a gift of encouraging people and uplifting their spirits. Margie had a steady strength and unwavering faith. Her quick wit resulted in abundant laughter whenever she was present. She will be missed immeasurably. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Center Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Corts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 26 Broadway 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 or to the American Heart Association/ Go Red for Women, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
