Margie Hudspeth

Margie Hudspeth, 87, passed away after several years of struggle with dementia and Alzheimer's. She was a resident of Liberty Commons ALF in Jacksonville, NC at the time of her death. Margie was born October 18, 1930 in Yadkin County to Stantford S. and Mary Lee Hinshaw. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired jewelry sales with Hannoush Jewelers. Margie loved people, dancing and playing bridge. For many years she worked in Hanes Mall and never met a stranger. Her greatest joy in life was her family and she was devoted to spending time with them. In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Brandon Hudspeth when she was only 36-years old; brother Gray M. Hinshaw; and step-mother Hazel Comer. Margie is survived by sons Perry (Nanci) Hudspeth of Winston-Salem and Bobby (Tammie) Hudspeth of Jacksonville, NC; grandchildren Emily (Cory) Thompson of Zachary, LA, Pat (Elizabeth) Hudspeth of Southern Shores, NC, Drew Hudspeth of Kill Devil Hills, NC and Cal Sligh of Swansboro, NC; seven great grandchildren Ella, Hannah Jane, Maggie, and Jack Thompson; Gray, Holden, and Easton Hudspeth. She is also survived by a sister, Wilma Shores of Elkin, NC. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Lewisville, NC with Rev. Al Fausch and Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00- 2:00 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
