Margie Loretta Beck Seymour, 97, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
She was born on March 23, 1928, in Forsyth Co. to the late Russell Gilbert Beck and Mildred Pfaff Beck. Margie was employed with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. as an operator, retiring after 39 years of service. She was a lifetime member of Olivet Moravian Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Margie loved to travel and took many bus tours throughout the United States. She met many friends on these trips and loved to take care of the other travelers by passing out snacks and sharing a smile with them. Margie also enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with friends locally, affectionately referring to their group as “The Lunch Bunch”.
In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Seymour; and brother, Russell G. Beck, Jr.
She is survived by her three children, Dennis Seymour (Sue), Becky Montgomery (Tony) and Debra Deheck (Richard); seven grandchildren, Michael Seymour (Elizabeth), Amanda Seymour, SuAnna Glover (Jason), Kevin Montgomery (Carla), Robert Montgomery, Austin Deheck (Ramsey) and Caroline Deheck; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Edwards; half-siblings, Brenda Grindstaff (Norman), Linda Davis (Doug) and Ronald Beck; and step-sister, Shirley Harper.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Olivet Moravian Church, with Rev. Matthew W. Allen officiating. Margie will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church graveyard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Olivet Moravian Church, 2205 Olivet Church Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
