High Point – Marguerite Annofsky McGraw, 93, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Westchester Manor. Marguerite was born on July 21, 1926 in California to Ernest and Alice Chinnock Annofsky. She spent a good portion of her childhood in China, with her parents who were missionaries. This resulted in a lifelong career of caring for others as a nurse and nursing administrator, earning her Master’s Degree at age 55. Marguerite was a good partner to her husband, who served in the ministry for over 55 years. She was a strong leader, mentor and a good example to her family. Marguerite loved to sew, growing flowers and had a special fondness of hummingbirds. She was a member of High Point Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, John McGraw; a son, David McGraw; a sister Shirley Frances Annofsky; and a brother, Ernest Annofsky, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter, Janice Wilhelm of High Point; two sons, Jonathan McGraw (Rheba) of Maine and Paul McGraw (Betty) of California; six grandchildren, Alex, Jessicah, Joshua, Spencer, Julianna and Evan; one great grandchild, Emmaline Grace; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
