Marguerite Shelia McCurdy

Marguerite Shelia Aliberti McCurdy, 96, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025.

Marguerite was born in Portland, Maine on September 1,1928. She was raised by her loving step-grandfather who she was very fond of.

Marguerite was a woman of many gifts, known for her love of gardening, her joyful spirit, crafts and her deep appreciation for music. From a young age, she learned to play the piano, and her passion for all kinds of music stayed with her throughout her life. She found great joy in planting flowers and spending time outdoors, where her nurturing spirit truly flourished. Marguerite was quick-witted, with a sharp sense of humor that brought laughter to those around her. Above all, she will be remembered for her strength and resilience—qualities that defined her and inspired everyone who knew her.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne McCurdy; her parents; her two daughters, Phyllis Robbins McCurdy and Shelia McCurdy; one grandson, Anthony Creason; and one great-grandson Dillon Manring.

Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Selina “Nina” Delgado, Devin Rothrock (Helen), Sonya Phelps and Wayne Tullock; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Pastor Francis Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
