Marian Ann Reid McKenzie

Mrs. Marian Ann Reid McKenzie, 73, of King passed away on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on May 27, 1943 in Forsyth County to Lewis Marion and Mary Alberta Brandon Reid. Mrs. McKenzie loved the Lord and was a member of Boyer's Chapel Church of Christ. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed watching senior softball and fishing. Mrs. McKenzie had a sweet smile, loved children, and she never met a stranger. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Wachovia Bank. Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Thomas McKenzie of the home; two sisters, Carol Reid Ivey of Winston-Salem, Sue Reid Cook and husband Chris of Ridgeland, SC; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. James Percival officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Boyer's Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.
