Marie Donaldson

Marie Carolyn Donaldson, of 2730 Shober Court in Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 7, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 10, 1940 to Nicholas and Eleanor Grassa.  She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Eleanor and brother, Gaspare Grassa.  Born in Boston, MA., Marie in her younger years worked for her father‘s family business. She also took great pride in her work with the children as a librarian in the Boston Public School System.  Being the matriarch of the family, Marie always looked at life thru a philosophers lens, always there to lend an ear and great advice. She spent her entire life devoting every moment to her family.  Marie, was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a dearly loved sister, wife and mother, an adored grandmother, mother-in-law and a cherished friend by many.  Left to share her stories are her sister, Ellie (Jim) Reardon; sons, Richard Norcott, Jeffrey (Maria) Norcott and Daniel (Lynlee) Donaldson; her most cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Nicholas, Halle, and Ava; and a large group of extended family and friends.  A graveside service will be held At 1:00 PM on Friday, February 21, 2020 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC.
