Marie "Ricky" Crews

WINSTON-SALEM-Sadie Marie ""Ricky"" Moss Crews, 88, a devoted Christian in serving her Lord, passed away late Sunday night September 25, 2016 at her home. She was born November 14, 1927 in Forsyth Co. to the late Walter Jefferson Moss, Sr. and Sadie Aldridge Moss. Ricky was a member for 50 plus years of New Hope United Methodist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday school class. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thurmond Crews; brothers, Walter J. Moss, Jr. and Milton Lee Moss; and a son-in-law, Thomas Carroll. Surviving are her two daughters, Judith Carroll, Janis (Bruce) Mack; three grandchildren, Russell (Anne) Carroll, Lara (Steve) Joyce, Austin Carroll and fiancé, Kristal Doub; three great-grandchildren, Brittany Joyce, Lindsey and Alexis Carroll; eleven step-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Sapp, Jeanette Newsome, Shelby Webb; one brother, C. Wayne Moss; several nieces and nephews; and loving care giver, Maggie Snyder. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter for the love and care that was given to Ricky. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. William Currie and the Dr. Rev. Suzanne Michael officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park.
