Marion "Gil" Gilbert Hayworth

Ms. Marion "Gil" Gilbert Hayworth, 79, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026. After a courageous 14-month battle with cancer, she passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family. She will be deeply missed. 

She was born in Forsyth County on October 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Bruce Fowler Hayworth, Sr. and Marion Gilbert Hayworth. 

Ms. Hayworth worked in mortgage banking and retired from the Pfefferkorn Agency. Gil was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her son, Lee Harris and wife Amber; and two grandchildren, Christian Harris and Chloe Harris. She is also survived by her nieces, Jill Hayworth, Susan Hayworth Clarkson, Katherine Hayworth Millikan, and Amanda Hayworth McLoughlin; and special friends, Karen Cook and Dawn Thompson, who were a constant source of love and support.

Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem.
