Marion "Kaye" Butner

Marion “Kaye” “Nana” Butner, 75, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 25, 2024. Born on January 2, 1949, to Bynum and Virginia Butner, Kaye was a dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her. Kaye proudly served as a Registered Nurse at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, where she devoted her life to caring for others. She was also a beloved member of Bible Baptist Church, where her faith and community were an important part of her life. In her free time, Kaye enjoyed knitting, spending time with her beloved animals, and caring for those around her, passions that brought her joy and comfort. Kaye is survived by her two daughters, Jeannie Wagner (Frankie) and Wendy Waddell; her seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Roger), Jessica (Zach), Jessie, Tyler (Chelsea), Faith, Hollie, and Luke; and her two great-grandchildren, Addilyn and Christopher. She is also survived by her twin sister, Faye Brandon; her brother, Johnny Butner (Shirley); her sister, Melody Gibbs; and her brother, David Butner (Sheryl). Kaye was predeceased by her parents, Bynum and Virginia Butner. A Funeral Service, open to friends and family, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel, 108 E. Kinderton Way, Advance, NC 27006, with Pastor Jonathan Ritchey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will follow the service. In honor of Kaye’s wishes, no flowers or donations are requested. Kaye will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her warmth, love, and generosity will be cherished in our hearts forever.
