Mrs. Marion Oakes Speas, 69, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on February 7, 1947 to the late Inez Oakes Mitchell and Robert Sheff. Mrs. Speas loved cooking, fishing, and drag-racing. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Speas was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Payne Speas and several siblings. She is survived by her three sons: James Robert Oakes, Marshall Bernard Love, and Neville LeBrand Love and wife, Michelle; seven grandchildren: Allen Jamelle Chaskley-Oakes, Alexander Patrick Chaskley-Oakes, Meyosha Love, Savannah Love, Joshua Love, Trinton Love, and Kelsey Love; nine great-grandchildren: Ariel, Brianna, Joshua Jr., Coby, Julianna, Trinity, Hailey, Hayden, and Xander Love; and fourteen siblings: Charles Mitchell Sr., Marion Davis, Shirley Scott, Robert Sheff Jr., Larry Sheff, Richard Sheff, Lillie Farabee, Glenda Miller, Mary McIlwin, Dewanda Sheff, Chester Sheff, Lester Sheff, Gladys Sheff, and Paul Sheff. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 19 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service.
