Mark Alan Speiser

Mark Alan Speiser, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, 70 years of age, died on Thursday November 9, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

Mark was born February 6, 1953 in Meadowbrook, Pennsylvania to Lenore and Edward Speiser. He grew up in Rydal, Pennsylvania with his younger brother Andy. Mark was a graduate of Abington High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Boston University. He enjoyed his career as a CPA, including 15 years as a finance director and senior VP at a local business.

Mark married Blanche Furness in 1984 and a joy of his life was raising his children, Brad and Jaime, in Chalfont, Pennsylvania. An avid sports fan, Mark loved coaching his kids’ teams. Some of his fondest memories were beach vacations and traveling with his family and friends. He welcomed Nate O’Connell to the family after marrying Jaime, and relished being “Granddad” to Lenore and Avi-Warren Speiser O’Connell.

Mark’s fondness for warm weather brought him happiness in his Naples, Florida home. He and Blanche went to the beach, played pickleball and bocci, ate happy hour dinners with family and friends, and watched sunsets over the lake from their lanai. Mark also volunteered his time as a board member of the homeowner’s association for his community. He was a member of Temple Shalom of Naples.

Mark is survived by his wife Blanche; his children, Brad and Jaime (Nate); his brother, Andy (Sharon); his grandchildren, Lenore and Avi-Warren; and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be planned in the Spring of 2024 in Pennsylvania.
