Mark Allen Willard

Mark Allen Willard, a life-long Forsyth County resident, was born March 4, 1957. He was the proud son of Roger Willard and Lorene Hamm Willard, the two best parents anyone could imagine. As owner/operator of Willard Auto, Mark was well-known in the community as a skilled and trustworthy mechanic. His passion for cars extended to the racetrack where he enjoyed being a valuable part of the crew. Mark was faithful to his crewmates. In fact, he missed just one race in all his 30 years of racing at Bowman Gray, and that was due to illness. If Mark could, he would thank each and every one of his friends, but there are just too many to name. So a sincere, ‘I love you all"" goes out to his many customers, friends and family who have stuck by him throughout his life. Mark is survived by his parents, Roger and Lorene Willard; two sisters, Jeanette Jewell (Dan) of Winston-Salem; and Levonda Nunn (Jeff) of FL; a brother, Ronald Willard (Gail) of Winston-Salem; and two special ladies, Joyce Smith (who was better than a wife) and her daughter, Jennifer Boger (better than a step-daughter.) A celebration of Mark's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Brady Lowery and Rev. Norwood Green officiating. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
