Mr. Marshall Melvin Shearin, 79 of Winston Salem, passed away May 6, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Clarksville, Virginia on March 21, 1938 to George Alton and Francis Keesee Shearin. Mr. Shearin was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was retired from R. J. Reynolds with 30 plus years of loyal service. Mr. Shearin was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Sandra, and one brother Russell. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Shearin of Winston Salem, and Jenny S. Hildrenbrand and husband Travis of New Bern, one son Chris B. Shearin and wife Cindy of Winston Salem. Five grandchildren Fallon, Christa, Alex, Faith and Therin; three great grandchildren, Kizzy, Paislee, and Rowan; also surviving is his special dog Presley. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial to follow at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Ephesus United Methodist Church Cemetery in Skipwith, Va. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:45- 1:45 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Mike and Janet Miller, and a special thank you to the Doctors and the nursing staff on the fourth-floor ICU, and the staff of the ER at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, also the family would like to thank the staff of Hospice.
