Martha Artz

Mrs. Martha Dash Artz, 90, of Lewisville, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Quality Care Homes in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Artz was born on April 29, 1929 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Michael and Mary Dash and preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ira H. Artz, and six of her brothers. Mrs. Artz is survived by a daughter, son, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother. Mrs. Artz  graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors degree in Home Economics, and a Masters degree in Nutrition from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her career included teaching positions at Page High School in Greensboro, the University of North Carolina in Greensboro, and the College of Saint Elizabeth in Florham Park, New Jersey. She also worked for the State of Kansas as a dietitian, retiring to Lewisville, NC in 1989. She is fondly remembered for her love of cooking, gardening, sewing, and reading.
