Mrs. Martha Joyner Davis, 92, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully at The Oaks on Wednesday, June 28, 2017. Martha was born on September 7, 1924 in Forsyth County to Gurney Eugene Joyner and Zola Baity Joyner. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Martha retired from R.J. Reynolds with many years of loyal service. She enjoyed bowling, outings with friends and family, writing poems and telling jokes. Martha was preceded in death by her loving husband, William ""Woot"" Davis; and her brother, Carl Eugene Joyner. She is survived by one sister, Doris Fulbright of Winston-Salem; two nephews, Terry Fulbright of Charlotte and Rick Fulbright and wife Helen of Winston-Salem; one niece, Karen Miller and husband Jeff of Winston-Salem; two great-nephews, Jeremy Miller and wife Laura of Winston-Salem and Tom Cranwell of Wisconsin; one great-niece, Brooke Miller of Winston-Salem; and one great-great-niece, Olivia Miller of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017 at 12:00 pm noon at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor William Kevin Conley officiating. Burial will follow the service in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm noon on Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
