Martha Mcpherson

Mrs. Martha Patterson McPherson, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Arbor Acres Retirement Community. Martha was born in Georgia on September 26, 1921, to the late Robert Ben Patterson and Claudia Lee Latham Patterson. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Newton, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Luther B. McPherson; a daughter, Eleanor McPherson; a son, David McPherson; and seven brothers and one sister. Martha is survived by two sons, Luther P. "Pat" McPherson and wife, Minnie of Mt. Gilead, NC and Bob McPherson and wife, Janet of Mt. Airy, NC; one daughter, Jane Martin and husband, Jimmy of Newton, NC; six grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point, NC with Rev. Lara "Willis" Greene officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
