Martha Mae Whitener Parrish

Mrs. Martha Mae Whitener Parrish, 88, went to be with the Lord December 30, 2016 at Piedmont Medical Center. Mae was born July 29, 1928 in Forsyth County to the late William and Ruth Whitener. She was a long time and faithful member of Woodland Baptist Church. She served in the cafeteria for 15 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Troy Lee Parrish of 68 years; one son, Ronnie Parrish. Surviving are one son, Tony O. Parrish (Deborah), of Clover S.C; two grandchildren, Tony Devan Parrish, Christopher Dean Parrish; twin brother, Ray Whitener. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2016 at Woodland Baptist Church in Winston-Salem with Rev. Tim Gammons and Rev. Vic Pyles officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church, beginning at 10:00 AM.
