Martha Money Queen, 88, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Martha was born in Forsyth County to the late Raymond Cornelius and Ila Elisabeth Hester Money on April 20, 1929. She loved baking and won best in show at the Beth Tartan cake contest with her German chocolate cake. She had many ribbon winning cakes and her homemade biscuits were a specialty. Martha would spend time crocheting and enjoyed gardening especially growing rose bushes. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, William Kenneth Queen; four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Mitchell Queen (Geri); daughter, Elisabeth Queen (Leeann); several nieces and nephews, including Gail Perdue and Maynard Reed; great nieces and nephews, David, Michelle and Karen, who were as close as her children. Also her furry grandchild, Paco. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Winston-Salem Church of Christ, 57 Cottage Street, Winston-Salem, NC with Mr. Jerry Williams and Mr. James Percival officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Committal will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park.
