Martha Robbins

Martha Ann Hartsfield Robbins passed away on March 30, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem, NC. She is survived by her 4 children, Vanessa Kieffer, Mark Robbins (Yanvarina), Elizabeth Horne (Alan) and Sandra Kirby (Larry), 10 grandchildren, 10 great grands and two sisters, Barbara Joyner and Faye Henry. She was born the daughter of a cotton farmer in Gilt Edge, Tennessee. She graduated from Munford High School and turned down a 4 year basketball scholarship to Memphis State to marry a navy man. She stayed home to raise her family as they travelled the world. In the late 70's she went to work for the civil service her favorite assignment being at Nellis AFB with the Thunderbirds. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was a great cook, loved bird watching and an awesome bridge player but most of all her greatest joy came from being with her family. She always went the extra mile to be a great mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sorely missed by all. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude's' Children's Hospital, her favorite charity. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 11:00 at Munford Cemetery in Covington, Tennessee.
